This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Naturalista Expo for the first time here in the DMV area with my ladies Sarah, Farah, and Stephanie. We definitely had a blast. The Naturalista Expo was awesome because there were so many vendors, social media influencers, and workshops centered around the natural black woman. Check out the footage below:
One of the highlights for this expo was definitely meeting Naptural85. I saw her in NOLA during Essence Fest however since there were sooo many people there I did not get a chance to meet her. This expo was a little smaller so I had the opportunity to walk up to her and chit chat with her. She is very personable! I love it when people are humble and friendly regardless of their popularity.
Another highlight from this event was Shelah Marie’s Self Care workshop. It was very fun, interactive, and insightful. Definitely up my lane. I took away a lot of good things from this workshop which I will implement in my daily life. I also plan on attending one of her workshops in the future.
I will say I was a little disappointed that Nerissa Neferteri wasn’t able to make it due to that darn hurricane. But of course safety comes first.
I think the Naturalista Expo should have more vendors inside the venue. They should also have a variety food vendors nearby. Bagels ‘n Grinds, which is the bagel place outside of the hotel we went to was not appetizing. The island is in my blood, so I am not a fan of unseasoned food at all, and the eggs I had from that place definitely didn’t have any. I even added salt and pepper and it still didn’t cut it 🙂
We left the expo around 3 pm and unfortunately most of the products for the swag bags were gone. The expo was scheduled to end at 5 pm.
After the expo we headed over to Masa Hibachi for some good food. I am never disappointed when I come here. I love this place 🙂
Overall my experience at the Naturalist a Expo was very good. I am looking forward to next year’s expo.
What is your favorite type of expo to attend? I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.
