Reflections Of A Birthday Girl

Hello Loves,

Yesterday was my birthday!  I feel so very thankful and blessed to see yet another fulfilled year on this earth. I woke up and I have my health. For that I am thankful.

Honestly, I did not give much thought about my birthday this year.  Normally I have tons of plans like a year ahead of time but this year was different.  I wanted to try something new like being low key.  But the universe and God did not see it fit for me to have a low key birthday.  Since midnight on August 30th I basically have been showered with love up until now.  My cousin made me stay up for a midnight champagne toast to celebrate another year of life.  Did I forget to mention she flew up here all the way from Florida to come celebrate with me?

Since I had no big plans in mind I ended up working during the day.  My co-worker bought me  a slice of cake and urged me to do a birthday wish ritual from Lebanon.  We did not have a match to light the candle on the cake so I did it later on in the day.  After work I picked up one of my close friends from the airport.  Yes she flew in from Atlanta.  Do you have any idea how special I was feeling by this time 🙂

My cousin, friend, and my little brother all went out to dinner at El Golfo to celebrate my birthday.  The food was great, the camaraderie was amazing, and I really felt the love.  After dinner my boyfriend surprised me of course.   I even got to do my birthday wish Lebanese ritual with the cake slice provided by the restaurant.

*Lebanese birthday tradition- On your birthday, as your loved ones are singing happy birthday to you, blow out your candle, close your eyes, and make one wish while you cut into the cake with the smooth side (upside down) of the knife.  Do not tell anyone your wish and within the year your wish will happen.  Do not be greedy now you only get one wish.

I had a wonderful day to kick off this weekend of events.  I am working on a birthday vlog to recap the events so stay tuned.

I am so thankful for everything that occurred on my special day, especially for all the love I received from my family and friends.  This year I hope to keep focusing on my dreams and goals.  I hope to inspire people to become the best version of themselves, spread positivity, and not feed into the negativity.

Remember you only have one life to live so live it beautifully 🙂

Peace & Love,

Esther J
