Summer is almost here and fresh fruits are definitely in season. In my last blog post, titled Fast and Easy Healthy Breakfast Ideas, I shared that I have a smoothie for breakfast pretty much every morning. Smoothies are fast and easy to make in the mornings especially if you live a fast paced lifestyle like I do. In the spirit of keeping this topic going I decided to share one of my favorite go to smoothie recipes.
Blueberry Pear Smoothie Recipe:
½ -1 cup water
4 pears sliced and diced into smaller pieces
1 6oz container of fresh or frozen blueberries
Add the water to your blender, then add your fresh fruits. If you are using frozen blueberries, add those to your blender last. Blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy. This usually makes approximately 2 16 oz servings, so share it with someone or save the rest for later.
Note: I usually use my favorite pears which are Bosc for this recipe but this time around I used Anjou pears since this is what I had on hand. My smoothie still turned out delicious! I will probably try different pear varieties in the future to see which ones I like best.
