People are always asking me about my fitness routine so today is the day I decided to share it.
I work out 3-4 days per week for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour and a half. I run 3-4 miles twice per week (usually first thing Saturday and Sunday in the A.M.) and do various exercises for 30-45 minutes afterwards.
Although I occasionally go to the gym, I am not really a fan. Instead I opt to take a fitness class once per week. My favorite fitness classes are either kickboxing, dance, yoga, or zumba. I typically just alternate depending on how I feel.
When I cannot make it to a workout class I often resort to my own home workout which is detailed below:
My Home Workout Routine
50 jumping jacks
50 high knees
3 sets of 10-15 reps of the following:
- Squats with 2 10lb kettle balls
- Pulsing deadlifts with 2 10 lb kettle balls
- Incline pushups (I use my coffee table)
- Bicycle crunches
- Leg raises
- Knees to elbow
- Side by side hops
- Lunge squat combo
- Knee pull ins
- Oblique twists (I sometimes use my 5 or 10 lb kettle ball)
- Donkey kicks
- Side donkey kicks
3 sets of 20 reps of the following:
- Sit ups
- Mountain climbers
- Modified V-Ups
- Flutter kicks
I do switch up my workout routine from time to time to make sure I am always challenging my body.
Fitness At work
The American Heart Association recommends that you get at least 10,000 steps per day. My personal goal is to get 8,000 to 10,000 steps per day.
Since I have a desk job I try to get in as many steps as I can. I take a 30 minute daily walking break, I take the stairs as often as possible, and take the longest routes possible when walking.
In addition, Monday through Friday I do 300 squats per day. Every time I get up to go to the restroom I aim to do 50-100 squats.
I stretch after my workouts to prevent any stiffness or potential injury.
I would love to hear how you like to stay fit. Please feel free to comment below and do not forget to subscribe.
