The year 2018 is almost over which means 2019 will be here in no time. With a new year comes new goals to accomplish. If you are naturally a planner like I am you are constantly thinking about your next goal anyway. But pause for a second. What about now? What about today? Why do you need to wait until a certain time to start focusing on creating a better you? Too many times we hold on to excuses like I can do this next year, I will do that tomorrow, or this can wait until later.
One of the issues here is later or tomorrow may never come because you can end up putting things off so far into the future that it simply does not get done. Realize by partaking in these actions, you place these roadblocks on your own route which prevents you from getting where you want to be.
Here are 3 self sabotaging things that you should stop doing today to “Get Out of Your Own Way”:
- Stop making excuses. Excuses cannot get you to where you want to be. You will only talk yourself out of doing what is necessary to make your new idea become a reality. Instead create a plan that specifies the next steps you need to take to bring you closer to your goals.
- Stop the negative self talk. Change that to positive self talk. You are taught from a young age to be nice to others, so why not start by being nice to yourself? Instead of thinking about all the things that could go wrong, think about all the the things that could go right. By re-framing the way you think the Universe/ God will see that you are ready to receive the assistance you need to make your goals happen.
- Stop waiting until the time is right. Successful people do things before they are ready. There will never be a perfect time so just do it. If it does not work out you now know what not to do the next time you try. Too many times we have a great idea but we do nothing with the idea. Action is the quickest way to get closer to your goals. So jump the time is now!
What helps you get out of your own way? I would love to here from you in the comment section below.
