I missed you guys!!! I am currently working 2 seasonal part time jobs so it has been quite a challenge keeping up with the blog this past week and a half, since last week was one of the busiest during the holiday season. But I am back with details from my Christmas.
I spent most of the earlier part of my day cooking for Christmas dinner. It was kind of therapeutic for me because I was jamming to my favorite types of music while cooking (which I really enjoy doing if I am in the mood.) I made Haitian salt fish patties (these were a hit at dinner per usual especially since I don’t often make them), baked macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, baked tuna steak, sautéed green beans, red lobster cheddar biscuits, macaroni salad, an actual green salad, rum cake, and peppermint bark. My mom made Kremas (which is a sweet Haitian alcoholic beverage and it is one of the best ever!!!) She also made turkey, Haitian style of course which is stewed. No dry turkey here. And yes I still do not eat meat. My sister made rice and beans. My cousin brought a Tiramisu dessert.
Once dinner was ready, some family members and friends came over to enjoy the evening. We laughed, ate, and opened gifts. We also played a Christmas Trivia game. Dinner was short though since most of our guests had to work the following day 🙁 But none the less, Christmas dinner was great!
I did not get a chance to vlog a lot with my new camera on Christmas day because I spent most of the day cooking but here is some footage below from later that evening:
