With the holidays right around the corner, it is very easy to fall off your normal eating regimen. All those cookies, donuts, and office parties filled with sweet addicting goodies are heading your way! Can you smell the sweets?
I can because this currently happens at least once per month in my office. The only difference is this will begin happening more frequently as the holiday season rapidly approaches.
Lately I have gotten off track with my eating habits. Well now it’s time for me to get back on track with an updated regimen. Here is what I plan on doing:
1) Sleeping More
I noticed recently that I like to snack more when I am sleepy. Getting a better nights rest will help me curb my cravings. According to my research in the past, the recommended amount of sleep is 7-9 hours. As you sleep your body repairs itself so my goal is to get a minimum of 7 hours per night.
2) Working Out More
Lately I have only been working out twice per week. My new goal is 4 days per week but no less than 3 days per week. It is hard to get back into a regimen and to stick with it but I can feel the difference in my body when I slack on eating healthy and working out. For my workout routine check it out here.
3) Eating Healthier
They say abs are made in the kitchen, so I plan on focusing a little bit more on what I eat. I am going to choose at least one week in the upcoming months to focus on eating only fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and seeds. Nothing fried, no bread, no grains, and no seafood (In case you were wondering I do not eat meat.)
I will focus on eating this way during the following time periods:
- November 7th through November 13th
- December 1st through December 7th
- January 2nd through January 31st
(Every January for the past few years I challenge myself to a 30 day raw fruits and vegetable fast. This upcoming year will be no different.)
For now I will focus on having a smoothie or eating fruit for breakfast and eating at least one salad per day.
How do you plan on staying fit or getting back on track? Should I post some recipes? Comment below I would love to hear your thoughts.
Remember you only have one life so live it Be-U-tifully.
