I am sure many of us feel the same exact way about our mothers as I feel about mine. My mom is an awesome, caring, loving, and God fearing woman with a huge heart (just to some her up in a few words 🙂 ) If it were not for her (and my dad’s) influence on my life, I would not be the person that I am today. To honor her I have always had in the back of my mind that I would throw her a party some day, especially since I was not able to throw one for my dad before he transitioned to the other side a few years ago.
Someday arrived sooner than I thought, because my mom reached a milestone in age this year so I decided it would be the perfect time to put together a birthday celebration for her. (Losing my dad so soon made me realize life is too short and I need to show more gratitude towards people especially my loved ones.) Sorry I had a moment, but back to my mom’s celebration…
I convinced my sister to collaborate with me so we decided to throw a surprise party to celebrate my mom’s birthday with most of her friends and some of our family members. Most of her side of the family lives in Florida, but thankfully a few of them were able to make it, including my sister who lives there.
My mother is a deaconess and one of the original members of her church so it was only fitting that her birthday celebration be held there. I managed to put together a video blog which covers most of the event. Check it out below:
Thank you to all who attended my mom’s surprise birthday party. She is still talking about this event 🙂 .A very special thank you goes to those who helped me pull off this party and decorate the venue, my cousin Ketsia (all the way from Florida), Rachelle (my bestie), Sarah (my niece), Isabel, Judith, and all my other family members who helped me set up the day of the party.
I hope you enjoyed this vlog post. Have you done anything special to celebrate your mom lately? Please feel free to comment below I would love to hear about it.
Remember you only have one life so live it Be-U-tifully.
Peace & Love,
